Diagnosis: Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS) – A postural imbalance involving forward head posturing, rounded shoulders, and rounded appearance of the upper back between the shoulder blades.
Mechanisms: Tight anterior neck muscles and weakened posterior neck muscles creates imbalances, poor posture, and may lead to injury.
Causes: Poor posture, such as slumping over a computer or slouching while sitting. Cardio exercises and strength training with faulty mechanics associated with UCS can cause excessive wear and injurt to the joints & muscles of the spine.
